For the ceremony, I decided it would fail but lead to more clues. Much like science, it often is the failures that help lead to the ‘Eureka’ moment. I wanted the monstrosity, called a void horror,to be unclear in it form. It has tentacle, eyes, but leaving the rest open to conjecture can make it more frightening and mysterious. It was a warning that opening portals into the void is very risky (like venturing into deep waters) – you hope your thrashing about isn’t ringing the dinner bell like this experiment.
The void horror came into contact with the fel-powered gate (blood/soulstone/life force) and essentially released the smoke from the chip…violently.
