Malaka’bim Island

The lost isle of Malaka’bim is tantalizingly referenced in a few ancient tomes. Its proximity to a confluence of ley lines and unusual flow of molten eternium augments or interferes with magical abilities. Such was the ideal location to pursue the arcane, elemental, and mechanical arts that both goblin and gnome thirsted after. By some combination of mining and magically-augmented mechanical means, they were able to make teleportation, scrying, and other methods of transport to and from the island impossible – without the right credentials.

Strategically located, the island beckoned as a waypoint toward the uncharted watery frontier. The Undermine and the secret gnomish organization, Gearlord, desired to obtain the unclaimed resources of the seas: minerals, magical components, rare essences, and more.

Much of the information that could have pointed to the island’s existence or location was lost in the Cataclysm.
